Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 12, 2026

1. Introduction

TeachUEasy ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our platform at teachueasy.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, profile picture (via Google OAuth), timezone, and locale preferences. We also collect content you create on the platform, including lessons, messages, homework submissions, and uploaded files. Additionally, we automatically collect usage data such as browser type, device information, and interaction patterns to improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and maintain the Service; authenticate your identity; enable communication between teachers and students; send service-related notifications; improve the platform based on usage patterns; and ensure the security and integrity of the Service. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information only as necessary: with other users in your classroom or chat context (e.g., your name and messages); with service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, error tracking, analytics); and when required by law. All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. File uploads are stored in Cloudflare R2 with access controls. While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and locale preferences. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous usage metrics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and associated data; export your content; and withdraw consent for data processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

8. Children's Privacy

TeachUEasy is not directed at children under 16. Teachers who invite minor students (16+) to the platform are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Google Calendar & Google Meet Integration

When you connect your Google Calendar, TeachUEasy requests the calendar.events.owned permission, which allows us to only create, update, and delete lesson events that TeachUEasy creates on your own calendar. We also add your students as guests so they receive calendar invitations — this is standard Google Calendar behavior and does not require access to students' calendars. We store an encrypted access token and refresh token to maintain this connection for as long as your account is active and the integration is connected. We do not read, modify, or store your existing calendar events. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your Profile settings, which immediately revokes access and deletes all stored tokens. TeachUEasy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a notice on the Service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
